    CIVIL WAR PERIOD WOODCUT DEPICTING RUNAWAY SLAVES REACHING FORTRESS MONROE (VIRGINIA) This is probably either a Civil War period book or magazine plate. The image size is 6 1/4” X 4” on a sheet measuring 10 1/8” X 7”. It shows a family of “Contraband” runaway slaves entering Fortress Monroe. The woodcut is by Adrian Probasco. In VG+ condition.
